The story of Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich dates back to Christmas Eve in 1838 when Johannes Baur, a young baker from Vorarlberg in Austria, founded the city’s first grand hotel, the Hotel Baur. Nestled on the famed Paradeplatz, the hotel stands just steps away from the prestigious Bahnhofstrasse, a historic old town, and the charming promenade leading to Lake Zurich.
